Madame Marquise de Pompadour (29 de diciembre de 1721 - 15 de abril de 1764) fue miembro de la corte francesa y fue considerada la amante oficial favorita de Luis XV.
Madame de Pompadour es sinónimo de brío e inteligencia, destacaba por su capacidad de hacer las cosas y tenía buen ojo para los interiores rococó, así como para su arquitectura. Proyectó edificios como la Plaza de la Concordia y el Petit Trianon.
Fue amiga de Dom Perignon y quedó tan fascinada por su recién inventado "vino burbujeante" que se convirtió en la mayor promotora del champán en la corte francesa.
